Yoga is a time-honored system of balancing mind, body and spirit and has something for a truly wide range of people, whatever the state of their mind and body.

For all, Yoga is good for what ails you. Specifically, yoga helps manage or control anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, stress and other conditions and diseases. It also:

improves muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina

helps to look younger, more radiant and stay in shape

reduces stress and tension whilst enhancing faculties
       (power and senses)

improves concentration and creativity

improves circulation

stimulates the immune system

creates peace, clarity and stability of mind

However, the benefits aforementioned remain secondary to yoga's original purpose, which is to achieve liberation and enlightenment.

The subtle channels of energy through which "Prana" (life force) flows through the body intersect at junctions known as Chakras (wheels). Different Asanas (postures) from yoga practice can work on different Chakras. The 7 Chakras (comprising root, base, navel, heart, throat, 3rd eye and crown Chakras) are part of yoga philosophy and are believed to offer benefits related to mental or emotional state. Working with the Chakras is a potent way of ensuring body, mind and soul are always in harmony.
